Mobile World Congress 2024 witnessed a landmark moment in wireless communications as DeepSig unveiled breakthrough innovations centered on integrating deep learning (DL) into the signal processing at the heart of 5G radio access networks (RAN). DeepSig hosted a live demonstration of its OmniPHY pre-6G modem, which implements an end-to-end AI-native air interface. This live demonstration illustrates a fundamentally new approach to air interface design that is under study for 6G. DeepSig, alongside other members of the AI-RAN Alliance, gives a glimpse of how deep learning shapes the future of wireless communications.
