OAI Workshop – Open Source in the times of AI Native Networks

DeepSig’s OCUDU Technical Lead Matt Pennybacker, Ph.D., will lead a session titled “Building an Open AI-RAN Platform: OCUDU gNB Progress and OAI UE Alignment” on June 23 at the OpenAirInterface Summer 2026 Workshop.

The session will highlight recent progress on OCUDU, an open, carrier-grade AI-RAN platform designed to accelerate innovation in 5G and future 6G networks. Attendees will learn about ongoing gNB development efforts, alignment with the OpenAirInterface (OAI) UE ecosystem, and how open-source collaboration is helping create interoperable foundations for AI-native wireless systems.

As industry momentum around AI-RAN continues to grow, initiatives such as OCUDU are helping bridge research, standards, and real-world deployment through open, scalable, and community-driven platforms.
