Wireless signals transmit data through the electromagnetic spectrum which is divided into frequencies for different uses by international regulations (e.g., the ITU) and each country’s spectrum regulator (such as the FFC/NTIA, Ofcom, MIC). The portion of the electromagnetic spectrum typically used for wireless communications is known as the radio frequency (RF) spectrum.
